IMO, your gift is easily observed in this essay: you’re incredibly observant, and (it appears) you collect little bits of truth as you go through life. It makes sense to me that on some days you aren’t ready to write, and then on others the truths are ready to come out. Trust your voice, and those of us who love it will be waiting!

Oh it’s so good to you have to back! Sometimes with writing your brain and heart need a break. Writing is heavy, because it’s like a whole other life being put out somewhere while you are still living your real one. I hope that makes sense. No matter how happy or sad the work is. I think there is a tendency for some people to assume that professionals do what they do with relative ease-as if, for instance, Simone Biles just fell out of bed one day with the ability to perform those feats. Perhaps they think that talented writers need only budget enough time in front of their laptop and then let 'er rip. I haven't walked in your shoes, but I do know this: your writing is a gift to the rest of us.
